This is a compact PCB to control up to three pairs of belisha beacons (yellow zebra crossing lights) lights in any railway model. This version has current limiting built in for LEDs. Each of the 6 drive outputs flash at approximately 2 second intervals (0.5Hz), the same rate as full size beacons. Each of the outputs operate at a slightly different rate so the beacons turn on and off at random times and avoid being synchronised, making for a more lifelike operation, especially when several different crossings are in use. A jumper connector on the board allows pairs of beacons to be synchronised if required. In this mode, although each pair will turn on and off at the same time, the three pairs will still run on separate timings. The PCB is just 38mm x 40mm with four fixing holes for convenient mounting. All connections use spring terminals for a reliable connection without the need for tools. The circuit requires a supply voltage of 8V to 16V to drive the LEDs. Full installation and configuaration instructions are supplied and we offer email support for technical queries. This circuit uses commercial grade micro-controllers for reliable operation and stable timings, regardless of supply voltage or temperature.
